[false alarm] BEWARE when you change the location of "My documents"
update (some hours later)
I seem to have mistaken. Windows didn't erase my folders.. You may safely forget this post.

seems that I've pointed it to the wrong folder. So Windows created new folder in it: "My pictures". When I entered that folder I've found it it's empty and I freaked out. While the original "My pictures" was somewhere else.

Apparantly MS isn't that stupid.

Update ends. Original post follows.

This behaviour is for Windows 2000. Might happen on XP too.

If you right-click on "My Documents" icon, you have the nice option of changing its location.
What you can't know is that windows will ERASE everything in the destination folder if you change it.

After you change the location, windows asks you if you want to move the old data to the new location. If you answer "no", it just erases everything in the new folder without warning!

And it has just erased my only backup of the old documents I had, including emails and stuff.
It's so horrible!
